Celebrating a Decade of Lindy Focus Transcription Magic For the past decade, Lindy Focus has been on a mission to bring the vibrant music of swing's greatest bandleaders back to life. It started with a focus on giants like Count Basie, Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, most of whose charts were readily available. But our vision extended further - to celebrate the wealth of swing era talent whose music had been lost to time, and so the Lindy Focus Transcription Project was born. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the swing dance community, we've been able to hire top-notch transcribers to painstakingly recreate the lost sheet music of legends like Chick Webb, Jimmie Lunceford, Lionel Hampton, Al Cooper, and last year, the demanding trumpet lines of Erskine Hawkins. This year, instead of embarking on a new transcription project, we're taking a moment to celebrate the fruits of this decade-long effort: We're opening the vaults. December 27: Jonathan Stout December 28: Michael Gamble December 29: Laura Windley December 30: Keenan McKenzie New Year's Eve: Jonathan Stout Jonathan, Michael, and Laura will have the entire Lindy Focus Transcription Library at their fingertips to build their perfect set lists, while Keenan will supersize his  "Modern Classics" late night from last year to fill the main stage! On New Year's Eve, Jonathan will return to the stage to toast us all into the New Year with the best of Lindy Focus.  How will this decade of musical exploration unfold on the dance floor? By preserving and performing these original arrangements, we as dancers, musicians, and historians gain a deeper understanding of the nuances, instrumental voicings, and rhythmic innovations that defined the swing era sound. These charts connect us directly to the musical foundations of our dance, allowing us to experience the music as it was originally intended and to appreciate the artistry of the musicians who shaped this vibrant genre.
